BetOnline Review

It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be far more enjoyable…and much less stressful.
I’d wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They have made choices a few years ago that’s likely cost them thousandsof thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, due to lost business from poor PR.
We’ll be sharing some cases of these with you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our customers — and believe that now they’re a trusted and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the entire story before deciding to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do Exactly?
What just did BetOnline do to create a lot of people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling likes to withholding cash to having shoddy security.
There are loads of examples we could show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they lied about what network it was around. They first claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, though they were actually about the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about how they were about the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked away.
Later reports (from BetOnline) indicated that things were nice and fixed, which BetOnline was (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Although we might lie also if we were on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a lousy way to market a new item. It doesn’t instill confidence. And it makes you wonder: why do they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of customers. The justification was nearly always because the client allegedly cheated, even though no proof was ever provided from BetOnline (in the cases we have read).
1 case that caught our attention was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him cheating (for evidence ).
He got them . What he did get was empty promises about the way they had been on the way, and the runaround when they never showed up. They told him they could not send him the hand histories since the documents were too large.
(Anyone who understands anything about online poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files to your computer — knows what a crock that is. And, why would not you send proof someone cheated if you do not have anything to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his cash back. His last update mentions being alleviated about the way it worked out for him, but also stated the same thing happened to his buddy.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the participant didn’t something wrong — he chip-dumped into his friend. But here is the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else could be hurt. He did it his buddy could have an extra $50 to play at BetOnline.
The funny part is that they were playing from precisely the exact same house at the time. Most sites would not even let two people from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the exact same table but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas most websites would have captured it much sooner), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s however, is the way they wanted to also take his $37,000 he earned since that episode.
Forum members suggested that many legit websites would not have allowed two people from the same IP to sit in the exact same table. And, if they did, the moment they guessed chip dumping had happened, the participant’s account would come under inspection. He’d never have the chance to earn the $37,000.
But now he did, BetOnline wanted it. Buttechnically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (which was no one). So it is absurd BetOnline thinks they need to have the ability to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The last example we want to share is an instance in which a BetOnline rep outed the way the employees understood their customer’s passwords and login numbers. You can see the live chat log in here.
The first poster has a fantastic point. If everybody in the company has access to your login information, what is stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into accounts and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a fantastic answer, only a »ha ha fine grained. »
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’re going to see even more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What is even more absurd is the way these instances are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer number of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for »BetOnline scams » will also keep you busy.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During precisely the same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were trying hard to pay their clients.
Thent a few months after a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part wasn’t so much the acquisition, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and previous payouts. Even after all their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is dedicated to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated in a more expedited manner.
« The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag, » the rep stated. « But as there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they have to be run through various fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. When the backlog is finished, clients will experience drastically enhanced payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment options, including same day choices. »
No one knows precisely how much BetOnline had to make in previous payments. In reality, BetOnline was reportedly »shocked » to find over $1.5 million in liabilities that was not reported from the prior management. So I think it’d be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we’ve had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the last year or so.
There are a few complaints; normal stuff all companies face that we will address later on in our review once it makes sense. But it appears to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They even have satisfied clients, if you can believe it.
Now, what exactly does that mean to you? Should you forget and forgive? Are they secure enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We will be honest — there is no way we would’ve played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we’d known or heard about any of the reports previously. Nobody in their right mind could. You’d be safer light your cash on fire.
And we don’t want to downplay the mistakes they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software isn’t to be dismissed.
However, as buying SportsBetting.ag and adding new direction to oversee operations, things have improved radically. So much so that we’re comfortable today urging them to our subscribers.
And it’s not only us. When you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you will see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing there, simply to get a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline changed.
So, here is where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review below.
But, as best as we could tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they offer players. So we feel secure using accounts .
It’s up to you to decide if you feel the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous out of the way, let us jump into what is important today — and that’s what BetOnline offers concerning banking, gambling choices and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a good selection of banking choices. But you’ll want to keep in mind that what’s available to you will probably be determined by where you live.
Let’s begin with their deposit options.

The largest complaint about deposits are their 6 percent fees for debit and credit cards. They are one of the only websites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among the other ones, charging 4.9%.

What I do not like is the way you are going to pay a fee for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is typically free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you’ll pay a 2% fee.
That said, I’ve seen firsthand reports from clients who say they’ve received payments over 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they are in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their site, but I have seen reports that suggest BetOnline provides you a $50 charge every month if you put in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the whole fee, but it is far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Can You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an »all in one » business. This means that you can bet on sports betting, play casino and poker games.
Their longest standing, and probably most popular product, is their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and finances.
Within their sportsbook they more or less cover the most well-known sports in the US. Included in these are:
Automobile racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Football Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Football Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also bet on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Pro Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Soccer 1 option they have added lately is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how fast the industry is growing. Every bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, even though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they just have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare this to Bovada who’s covering 5+ games across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a large difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports betting?
That being said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they’re still attempting to find their bearings in this growing market. Perhaps they have plans to expand their eSports options in the near future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They are offering marginally better pricing for the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell whether that’s going to be the case, nor can it matter whether they never enlarge this part of the sportsbook.
But, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They offer live betting also. These options vary constantly, of course, to coincide with what events or games are moving on. When I last looked they’d lines for football, baseball and tennis. You can even keep track of a few games concurrently utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games using their live betting calendar.
1 thing they’re known for are their higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. It is also possible to increase your wagering amounts by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable variety of promotions, and much more than you’ll find in their racebook and financials segment combined. Some of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your first deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — create a bet and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a list of races on their main webpage. Each listing tells you how many spacious races there are, which should you click on it is going to expand to reveal the races, horses, jockeys and chances.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse betting, a fantastic section to search through is their racebook info tab in their own navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their monitor limitations. This lets you know the maximum you can wager per race.Payoff odds. Discover how much you will make if your bet(s) win.Their rules and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or term means).
It is a good section if you are new to horse gambling.
And that is about it. This segment is much more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a few offers also, though nowhere near the quality or quantity that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7 percent rebate on your bets daily with no min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a wager for the very first time in the racebook. In the event you lose BetOnline will reimburse you up to $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here it is possible to wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include touch, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to wager on will depend on your wager type.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or advertising BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is one of the most popular options for Americans. They are a part of the Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in overall traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker sites. After I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software upgrade. In the past they had several complaints regarding the standard of their software. This included complaints about blurry graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their upgrade we’ve seen suggestions that they may have a few of the greatest applications in america market.
From worst to best in 1 update? That might be pushing it. But based on the images I have seen, their software DOES look much better.
However, there are still several areas BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some options for mobile players, which we think is a no-brainer in this era. They also only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It would be nice to see more game options.
In general, however, it is nice to see they are making improvements and are becoming more aggressive with what other top tier US poker websites provide.
Speaking of which, some of their poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a max of $2,500. They cover this out to you 5 at one time. You will have 60 days to clear the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re running a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees more than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They have a few leaderboard and money race challenges, also.
Plus it is not just a »bonus, » but the matches here should be milder due to the US traffic and also the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be easier here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find a great deal of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft software, each of which are known for producing topnotch games. Here’s how their matches breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for real cash accounts only)
One thing to find here are the reports I have seen about the way BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
1 example came from a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was one of the worst I have heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high quality, I anticipated them to excel at customer services. How else could you explain the prevalence of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, during their live chat service (and that I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review)I had the worst customer service experience in my life so far.
Following the live chat session started, I had to wait for a couple of minutes until the customer service person bothered to reply, not just entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username to a live chat box? I sure did not.
I explained that I don’t want to input that information into a chat room and, more importantly, the query requires no such advice because it was about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait for ten minutes for »help » (I use that word loosely here), while receiving »Thank you for waiting. I’ll be with you in just a minute… » every now and then.
That said, I have also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline says they offer excellent customer service. He also says that your very best choice is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This suggests to us that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with the way they manage customer care…an
